"True Beauty" (Self Best Of Beauty Awards Testing)

It all started with a package from Conde Nast at my door!



What beauty gal wouldn't love trying out the latest and greatest products to hit the scene?



I had signed up to be a beauty awards tester online for Self Magazine months ago, but never expected to be chosen.

 I was elated to find four wonderful anti-aging moisturizers to try.

Here,are my "best of" picks for fit skin.




My favorite of the bunch was Jurlique- Not too heavy, with a mild lavender scent.



 I found this perfect for both day and night,and soothing for sensitive skin.

 I could really see a lift and a difference in my skin after just a few days. ($50)

My second favorite was one that when I first tried it, I didn't actually like. It took awhile to actually experience benefits of this moisturizer, but Glo Therapeutics quickly turned out to be another moisturizer that I kept reaching for.


It did however carry a pretty hefty price tag of $136.00, so I'm not sure if I would actually purchase this for myself,but it did last for a very long time.

 It had a very clean scent,and did not leave behind any residue. Again, this can be used for both day and night, but because of its consistency, I chose to use it as a night cream mainly.

Espa was in the middle. I didn't really see much results with this. I'm not sure what it was intended to do. This was more of a lotion/serum. The one thing that I did notice was the scent. It was like rubbing on cough syrup,and it was very strong. I wound up using this on my neck,as it seemed to absorb pretty well. ($78)

Dermelect was the last moisturizer that I tried. I was a bit hesitant to try this,but glad that I did. This is a supplement to your moisturizer that boosts its results. ($39)

The one I stayed with and purchased again was the Jurlique. It was just right for me.

I am very happy to have had this opportunity to try out some great products, and find the perfect cream for me.

"Ray-Diant" Beauty

I'm a big fan of glitter, but more often than not, I am not a very big fan of glittery nail polish. I find alot of them to be too chunky to cover smoothly,or too thin to really give the type of coverage that I am hoping for.

I came across the China Glaze Prismatic Chroma Glitters Collection at Sally Beauty, and fell in love with this color.


Hints of green and pink glitter,along with a silvery base give this a unique glow on your nails. I had to use two coats to get a good even finish, but the overall effect is dazzling! Once dry, it is smooth and oh so shiny.

There are six shades in the collection:  Ray-diant,Polarized,Liquid Crystal,Prism,Optical Illusion, and Full Spectrum.

Oh My Gossip Girl (What's Inside My May Birchbox)‏

Great Gift Idea For The Chic Mom In Your Life

I'm "wild" over this great gift idea I found at my local Ulta by LORAC.



I love anything having to do with a safari theme,and this gift set certainly fits the bill.

"F Is For Fragrance"

My favorite of the moment is Meow, by Katy Perry. I adore anything with cats so  this little bottle is "purr-fect" right down to the tail on the back.



It's a little hard to describe the scent, but a soft powdery floral ,along with hints of vanilla does it best.

 This is one that you can wear everyday without getting tired of it.

I always get complimented on it whenever I spritz it on in the morning, and it seems to last throughout the day.

"E" Is For Eyebrows

Being a red head has it challenges. One of them is finding the correct shade of eyebrow pencil or powder to shape your arches.

Brown can be way too harsh,depending on the color, and blonde somehow is way too light unless you are a strawberry blonde.

I've tried several brands, and of course, the one that I loved most is no longer available,so when I saw Maybelline's Master Shape Brow Pencil on the shelf, I was over joyed to see that they actually had one in auburn! 

The pencil sports a smooth edge along with a great little brow brush that keep those little pesky hairs where they belong. This is perfect for coloring and matches most red haired shades well.

Okay, I have to admit, I am a sucker for great prices,but I am also always on the lookout for fashions with great details.
