I have been a bit absent for awhile due to the loss of a very sweet furry friend that had been by my side for 16 years.
It's
funny how people treat you when you are grieving;weather it be over the
loss of a friend, loved one,or over the loss of a pet (as they too are
indeed "loved ones")
People either tend to avoid you, think you're nuts to be so sad,or think
you should just move on. Others offer a shoulder, and kind words, even a
bit of wisdom. For those who do,I say a heartfelt thank you.
My Pi,was a sweet, gentle, loving soul. the best way to describe her would
be serene.I adopted her at Petsmart, who had an Animal Humane Adoption
Center, and from the very first day I saw her,I knew we were meant for
each other.
My favorite moment is when I came back after they had
groomed her and prepared her,to see a sign on her cage that read "I'm
going home" and indeed, for what now seems a very short time, she was
"home".
Pi leaves behind a legacy of love. There are so many memories. From
eating my macaroni and cheese,to sneaking french onion dip and eggrolls
from my plate,to her silly climbing into bags and boxes,to keeping me
company when I write (she was my "Editor in Chief")to watching her
favorite shows (Project Runway,Once Upon A Time, and Kung Fu Panda) I
never went to bed alone. I was always wakened with kisses and purrs.
There was nothing cuter than having my nose licked when I got under the
covers.I think if she could laugh, she probably would have.Heaven knows
how much laughter she brought into my home. This was LOVE in little
furry pajamas.
These are the memories she gave me.She was my best little pal and "family" in more ways than I can count.I will never be CRAZY for missing her presence in my life.
If you are looking for a best pal,I strongly urge you to adopt a shelter pet. Save a life.
I am so glad that I did!
Until next time~
