Saturday,September 27th, Bellevue Square Center Court became a showcase for fall fashion with the Fall Forecast Trend Show.

There were so many looks to choose from, and quite a few made the audience gasp with sheer delight.

Lawrence and Cara were on hand to host the show, giving away prizes to the crowd, and breaking down the must have pieces for those cool days and glittering nights ahead.

The looks presented, ranged from casual and carefree,to edgy and enchanted.

Here's the breakdown:

Bellevue Fashion Week Media Luncheon

So delighted to have been a guest at the Bellevue Fashion Week Media Luncheon yesterday.
I was greeted warmly by Cheryl Engstrom, and treated to a buffet style lunch provided by the Hyatt.

At our tables, was an exclusive Vogue notebook,to capture all of our thoughts on the day,our favorite looks (that were about to be presented) and maybe a few quick illustrations.

There was a bit of excitement in the air as a room full of bloggers and media people waited for our guests of honor to take the stage.

The Fashion Forecast presentation with Lawrence Zarian and Cara Crowley was a great way to get an up close and personal view of what's ahead for fall.We also received some styling advice on how we can make these looks our own,by adding statement pieces such as a wide belt, adding slouchy pants to comfy knit sweaters, using scarfs, and bold jewelery to add "oomph" to that little black dress.

White is the new black this season.Sixties inspired prints, flirty dresses, and exposed zippers. If you want to take a walk on the wild side, take a nice girl and put her in a dress or jacket with an exposed zipper for a hint of naughty! Ornamentation is key,Bring it on! Play with a little texture, mix fabrics!

Ankle boots and knee high boots are back, but so are gloves,to give a "lady-like" look to  your fashions. Tres chic! Classic pieces are also in style this fall. Choose ONE simple piece and make it your own. Lawrence added, "Buy one piece, and create 4 different looks"

I liked the  way that both Cara and Lawrence referenced Audrey Hepburn and Chanel, sharing that we  should be comfortable with who we are right now,and that true beauty shines from the inside,in our eyes, in our passion, whatever we choose to do.

"Amen"
Until next time~

In Praise Of Fashion's Night Out

Fashion Week is coming, and I cant help but reminisce about the now long gone Fashion's Night Out.I miss those days so much.

It was a "Project Runway" experience for fashion devotees. We got to meet the designers, hear  the back story on how their creations came into being. We got to see the craftsmanship, the bead work,we got to feel the fabric and the lace and buttons used, and we got a better appreciation of the hard work that goes into making a couture piece.

Over the years,I have met so many wonderful designers, that normally, I would never have had the opportunity to hear about if it wasn't for our local fashion shows and events.

I am grateful that at least we have a local fashion week to showcase this well deserving talent.

I still miss that up close and personal "hands on" effect.I wish they  would bring it back!

Are you attending Bellevue Fashion Week this year? If so, I'll see  you there!

Until next time~
