"B" Is For Beauty Benefit

I recently heard all of the buzz about beauty benefit creams, and wondered if it was true. Did I really need one? Would my skin somehow magically transform into something soft, radiant, and flawless?

Garnier recently came out with a much newsworthy product, and I was curious to see if it truly lived up to all of the hype.

The product is supposed to "even skin tone, hydrate, renew the look and feel of skin, protect, and brighten all in one application"

I finally broke down, and picked up a tube of this at my local Target, and for $12.00, I have to say that I just don't get it.

I applied it the very next morning, and except for the sunscreen, and slight tint, really didn't notice any changes in the appearance of my skin.

There were no angels singing, and I didn't instantly transform into a younger version of myself. It barely covered my skin at all, and made my face breakout the next day.

I thought I would give it another try, but all it seemed to do was smell good, and left my face with a slightly greasy feeling.

Has anyone else used this? did you get any noteworthy results? For me, it wasn't much of a "benefit"

Until next time~

Blogging From "A-To-Z" (30 Day Challenge)

I was invited to take part of a bloggers challenge, and thought it might be a fun idea to start my adventure with one of my favorite "A's"

Aromatic Candles

My entire house smelled so yummy tonight after lighting this wonderful candle from Bath & Body Works.

They recently had a sale on all of their 3 wick candles 2 for $20,and when I spotted this Frosted Cupcake candle, I knew I had to have it!

Who wouldn't love the scent of fresh baked cupcakes in their home?

My other choice was a richly scented Market Peach 3 wick candle, that smells like fresh picked, ripe peaches.

Fresh Looks

Spring is a great time to start thinking about getting your skin in tip top condition, and freshening up your look.

I found some great products at LUSH,and I believe that they should have called this place Heaven, with all of the beautiful handmade, natural soaps and products that they carry.

From bath bombs to scrubs to yummy scented gels and lotions, I picked a wonderful peach scented bath bar ($9.95), and natural foundation ($15.95) made for fussy skin.

Check out their website at www.lushusa.com for more product information.

I also needed some new makeup brushes, and spotted these over at my local Target. I love the mod look and these are so soft to the touch.

I also like the slightly longer handles that make application a breeze.

These Sonia Kashuk brushes were $16.99, and are a great bargin compaired to the price  of a regular natural bristle brush. Hurry though, they are limited edition.

Until next time~

"Star Worthy"

It's almost Spring, and it's time to start thinking about new makeup shades. I wanted to try out something softer, and easier for my everyday look, and spotted this great makeup kit by LORAC at my local ULTA store.

I have used LORAC for years, and love the seasonal kits that they come out with every Summer and Fall. Their eye shadows travel well, and their blush shades are always soft and flattering.

Here's my pick: LORAC Close Up: Real Life To Red Carpet Face Tutorial ($39)

There are five products inside, all full size, along with a great step by step booklet with  instructions that "cling" to your mirror. How chic is that?

You'll find Baked Eyeshadow Trio in LORACStar,Blush in Soul,Front Of The Line PRO Liquid Eyeliner (Black),Multiplex 3D Lashes mascara (black) and Couture Shine Liquid Lipstick in Trend Setter.

This is a great transitional set to prep for Spring's lighter side.

Until next time~

"The Hunger Games" Fire Inspired Nails

As mentioned in my previous post, I have been on the lookout for the last remaining shades of the Capitol Colours Collection from China Glaze.

Please see http://chinaglaze.com/products/index.php?coll=57  for a complete list of these fabulous "tribute" colors.

I have been lucky enough to find most of the shades at my local beauty stores, and yesterday found the entire collection (all 12 shades) at my Ulta store. (YES, Hurry!)

I managed to find two of the shades I was hunting for,
"Electrify" (on the right) and "Harvest Moon"(on the left).

Along with "Riveting", I think these shades are  my favorite out of all of them.

I think these are almost a perfect match to the cover of the second book in The Hunger Games Series.

I've had a bit of a thought in my mind to see how I could create a fire look with these hues, and paired Riveting with OPI's Gold Shatter for a perfect look.

The gold  in the shatter sets off the reddish orange shade beautifully!

I'm so excited about this movie! How about you? Who will you be rooting for at The Hunger Games?

Until next time~

March "Spring Fling"

I love my local Ulta Store! Not only are the products brightly displayed, but the store is clean, well stocked, and up to date.

They are the number one place I go to find all of the latest trends and beauty products, and the staff is ALWAYS helpful, and will go out of their way to find something if you ask.

What a difference walking into one of these stores, in comparison to that "other" well known beauty outlet. There are no pushy salespeople here.

I was so pleased to see that they had the new Essie Spring Collection (along with over a hundred other shades) The colors are just so lovely, they simply shout "springtime". This mini set is perfect for trying out these frothy temptations, and contains Ole Calente,To Buy or Not To Buy,Tour De Finance, and Navigate Her. All for $17.00, which is a huge savings over the regular price of a full size bottle ($8)

I also stopped by Sally's Beauty and grabbed the last few remaining bottles of the new China Glaze Collection. The Capitol Colors is a tribute to the new movie "The Hunger Games". I squealed with glee ,when I spotted one of the coveted shades "Riveting" on the shelf!

Ladies, if you can, RUN to get these! with my Sally's card, the were $5.99 each. I plan on going back and snatching up the rest of the shades before they are gone. *** Interesting fact:Washington is considered to be District 7 for The Hunger Games, and our  District's color is Mahogany Magic.***

Pictured are three of the new shades.Riveting,Mahogany Magic, and Hook And Line.
Riveting is a bright orange with gold flecks, Mahogany is a warm brown, almost a caramel shade, and Hook And Line is an interesting mix of gray and silver, almost a "smoke" shade.

The rest of my shopping consisted of a stop by Bath & Body Works for their Pocket Bac Hand Sanitizer.
I spotted an adorable kitty carrier that goes along with it,
I also picked up a few goodies at Nordstrom (Coach Poppy, and Meow)

What are your must haves for Spring? I've found most of mine, and can't wait to try these!  I will be posting pictures along the way.
Please forgive me, I am having the worst problem with my font on here today. Attempted to fix but will not correct itself on here. Blogger is not behaving today!

Happy Shopping!
Until next time~
