Black On Black

Do you find yourself wearing too much black? If you're like me,you gravitate towards black as an every day color. Let's face it,it's easy, you don't have to think about it,and it matches everything.

Now that it's spring,it's time to add some color!

Keep it simple, add little pops of color like a turquoise bracelet,a bright colored belt or even a pair of bold shoes. This season, color is everywhere. Try adding a beautiful scarf or sweater. You can still keep black in your wardrobe, such as pants, or a top, but the more color you add, the more you will have a tendency to want to gradually wear more of these bright, exciting shades every day.

Some great, and in-expensive accessories can be found at Forever 21, or at For Love 21 (a separate accessories only shop) I recently went to my local store and found some beautiful earrings and bracelets to add to my basic black pants, sweaters, and tops. Here, you will find a treasure trove from necklaces, to bracelets, rings, and earrings.

It was hard walking out of the store with just a few items, and rest assured, I will be going back.

Most of these items are priced well within budget, and are usually under $20. Chic, and fun..exactly what spring should be all about.

Did I mention the drool worthy shoes? Don't get me started.. These are $22.80 Check out (http://www.forever21.com/ for more information)

Time to "spring forward" into color!

Until next time~

Luck'O The Irish

Saint Patrick's Day is finally here, and hopefully spring is not far behind.

Did you do any "wearing of the green" today?

Here is a few cute ideas I came up with for today. Bring a hint of spring to your eyes with MAC Tartan Tales Eyeshadow in Enviably Fun. A soft, grass green, embossed with a playful plaid design. This is a splash of light lime green, that can be used as a base color or mixed with a darker green in the crease for a mesmerizing effect. $14.50 (Available at MAC Counters, and at Maccosmetics.com) I also used MUD (Make Up Designory) as a liner, wet to add a beautiful touch of peacock green to my eyes. $13.50

I also found a great nail polish, and adorable nail decals.

Wet'N Wild has recently re-vamped it's entire collection from eyeliners to shadows, and polish. This is a perfect shade for adding a touch of green to those foxy digits. Grab Sage in the city, one of the new fast- dry formula nail shades for $1.99 (at drugstores, supermarkets, and at www.wnwbeauty.com) For an extra fashionable touch, try adding a few nail decals.

Shown here are shamrocks from Cala 3-D Nail Art.Simply peel and apply after nails have dried, then use a top coat to seal.

Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone,

Until next time~

Crazy About The Lady

Are you "Ga-Ga" for Lady Gaga?  MAC has recently released the latest in the Viva Glam Collection, and it is all about the Lady this time.
Last time around  "La Gaga" had to share the spotlight, so to speak, but this time, MAC decided to give her double time, with two limited edition shades of lipstick, and lipglass. This is a first for the company. 100% of the proceeds go to help fight aids. I love this, because most companies only donate a portion, and helping to get the word out, and support those in need is honestly what being a Lady Gaga fan is all about. Not only is she cool, campy, and a bit daring, but she really cares about others.

I chose the Lipglass this time around, simply because the shade is a bit darker in color, more of a beige, than the Lipstick is. The Lipstick is great for people with cool skin tones, as it is a very pale almost white/beige. (here is a picture from the website http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/shaded/4801/7220/Viva-Glam-Gaga/index.tmpl)
The Lipglass is just a tad darker, and is more suitable for those with warm skin tones, or like myself, very pale, with red hair, and not prone to wanting to look like the walking dead. The shade is closer to a true nude beige. The formula is rich, shiny, but not sticky, which I really love, and lasts forever. Paired with a nude beige liner, the look was cool and classy.

I took a few shots so that you can see what it looks like up close. These are available at most MAC Counters, Nordstrom,Macy's,and online at maccosmetics.com for $14.50)
Let your inner diva shine through!

Until next time~

A Solid Foundation

Girls on the go are always looking for a few shortcuts to great looking skin. If you're like me, you have probably been searching for the "perfect" makeup shade. Is there such thing as foundation nirvana?

This brand comes pretty close. I have never had a bad skin day for the past few months, and it has been the number one foundation on my dressing table.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation Overall Opinion:
I adore this foundation. One of the best I have tried, and I keep coming back to it. Hate to admit it, but this works even better than the so called higher priced brands that are out there. The coverage is even, works great for fair complexions, and really does last all day without needing a touch up. I have been using Ivory (shade 100) and it is usually the first thing I grab every morning for an easy, fresh glow.

WEAR: What I love best about this is that the texture is light, but it still covers without feeling like you need to keep applying more. No powder is needed. This covers little red marks, or blemishes perfectly, and gives a really nice matte finish. I also love that they have so many shades to choose from, and that I don't have to guess at which shade is right for me,the color is a perfect match. It also doesnt feel "cakey" on the skin at all, very blendable, and doesn't leave a mask-like look behind.

PRICE: Generally the price is $7.99 and can be found at most drugstores, Target or supermarkets where they sell Rimmel products.

Get ready for luminous, healthy looking skin.

Until next time~
