A Manicure Any Girl Would "Love"

Ever since I've discovered Broadway Nail Dress, I've been in love with trying out their different designs. I decided to do up my nails for Valentine's Day with the silver patterned nail kit. I really enjoy how easy these are to apply, they give a great professional look to your nails, and may I say, are just simply cute.

I added a few heart decals from Kiss Nails, and sealed with a top coat to give a shiny finish, and to help give my nails a good long lasting seal. Seriously, these designs will last for about three to four days without needing any touch ups.

Check out the great designs and more at http://www.broadwaynails.com  These kits are about $5.99,but there are coupons for $1.00 off; usually available, and if you join the Broadway Nail Facebook page, you can get a $2.00 coupon off on their products. http://www.facebook.com/BwayNails

I'm so thinking of my spring nail design next. Yellow and green nail polishes are going to be hot this season. How about adding some cute bunny or lady bug decals to those?

You get a package of 28 Nail Designs, just size and peel off, smooth out onto your nail, and file off excess.

Until next time~

Seeing Spots

I was at my local shopping center, and thought I would browse the nail isle. Everyone is talking about the latest and greatest manicure looks out there for spring, and one of the most popular trends is the Minx nail designs.

Often this process can cost up to $50 or more depending on what type of design you are looking for. You'll see ladies sporting cool zebra, tiger, flowers and more on their nails. It can take alot of time, and requires a UV lamp.
Quite a few companies have decided to try to duplicate this look and have launched their own brand of nail foils, and  press on polish tabs.  I happened to spy the cute Broadway Nail Dress kit,and thought I would give it a try, just for fun.The price was right, $5.99,plus there was a $1.00 off coupon on top of that, so for $4.99 I thought, why not?

You get 28 strips in a pack, and a little nail smoother/file. You basically peel the foil off, which is made fairly easy, and apply to clean, dry nails. The trick is making sure you size these correctly. they should fit just slightly above the cuticle and extend just a bit beyond the tips.you then will want to smooth these out with the pink side of the nail tool, and file off any excess.

Now, I will tell you that it does take a little patience. work from pinkie to thumb. You can even trim a bit with a small pair of cuticle scissors, if needed. I loved the look after finishing my first nail, and the whole process took less than half an hour to complete.

What they don't tell you: They do state on the box to use a top coat. What they forgot is that it is IMPERATIVE. This basically helps to seal the foil to your nails, and prevents it from lifting,as well as preventing normal wear and tear at the nail tips.
*** HINT**** Wrap the top coat slightly under your nail edges when applying, it will really make these last. I used CHI Ceramic Nail Base and Top Coat, and even after doing dishes and cleaning, day 2 they are still going strong,no peeling.

It was so great to be able to get the Minx look without paying the big price tag. Will you be trying these??? Would love some feedback on it if you do. There's a pink and orange tiger print calling my name!

Would I buy these again? Yes, I thought they were great fun, and they are perfect for a "Night on the Town" look. I wasn't really sure how well they would wear, but was very impressed with the fact that they didn't lift after exposure to water and cleaning, etc.

They look very professional, and very much like someone spent hours on my nails. Another tip is to make sure you size these correctly. They should fit just slightly above the cuticle, and cover sides of nails completely.

Until next time~

Love Is In The Air

BellevueGrl Says...."Let's Talk About Love"

Ah February, and Valentines Day is about a week away..What to buy for that special someone that holds your heart? BellevueGrl is here with some great ideas you both will love.

Guys, women adore flowers. They may not admit it,but we are secretly jealous when we see all those pretty bouquets coming in from all the little florists trucks all around town. Valentines Day is the perfect time for roses..but red is cliche. Try something different, like peach, orange, lavender,or something unexpected like white. A simple long stemmed  rose speaks volumes on it's own, and is so very romantic. Forget the mylar bouquets and opt instead for a beautiful white rose.place on a dresser,or bed,or next to a dinner plate and stir up a little romance.

Speaking of "stirring things up",try The Melting Pot. I'm a big fan of the Bellevue location; thanks to an amazing waitress , that has made Valentines Day memorable for quite a few years now. The place is dressed to the nines for the big day,but this year is featuring a special dinner on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday night for it's guests. Roses, balloons, candles everywhere, cheddar cheese/white wine fondue,to stir up a great conversation, salad, main course, and to die for chocolate and liqueur fondue for dessert. You'll fall in love dipping marshmallows into rich dripping chocolate. It's a bit costly, but for the food and the experience it is well worth it. Probably one of the most enjoyable nights out,and one you will both remember.

Some other great ideas on my list-

Create a basket of pampering bath essentials. Start with a heart shaped basket, then add bath gel, body lotion ,a candle in their favorite scent, then add the surprise of a bottle of wine. Many shops like Cost Plus,or Whole Foods Market has a special isle designed for wine for chocolate lovers. try Bath and Body Works,or the Body Shop.

Godiva-You can give a little of your heart without having to give up alot of cash. Most gifts are priced at $25,which is less than a night on the town, and still gets you a delighted smile.
Godiva 15 pc True Love Heart Box $25
12 pc Valentine's Day Truffle Gift Box $25.Gund 2011 Valentino the Bear $25 Simply the cutest bear! This year, he sports a tres  chic beret and red sweater, and holds 8 foil wrapped hearts. This one will win your heart.

Let Love surround you this Valentines Day!

Until next time~
